Overview

The Unicel C-9494 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element engineered for residential and light commercial single-cartridge filter housings, delivering 100 sq ft of effective filtration area through a high-pleat-count Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack. Dimensional specifications: 7.0-inch OD, 3.0-inch ID inner bore, 23.3125-inch overall length with handle, fitted with injection-molded ABS end caps (closed bottom with molded handle, open-flow top with integrated gasket seat) on a perforated polypropylene core for axial pleat support. Nominal filtration efficiency: 20 micron under standard test conditions. Rated for continuous service to 104°F and operating pressures to 25 PSI; rated flow capacity is 150 GPM at clean differential pressure. End cap bond chemistry is acid-wash compatible and stabilized against standard pool water chemistry exposure.

Service interval recommendation: residential installations — replacement triggered at ΔP ≥ 8–10 PSI above clean-filter baseline, or on an annual calendar cycle, whichever occurs first. Chlorine tolerance: continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; bromine compatible without restriction. Verify housing O-ring condition and lubricate with silicone-based O-ring grease at each service interval; confirm post-installation pressure within manufacturer clean-baseline range before returning system to automated operation.
