The Unicel C-8610 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element engineered for residential and light commercial pool applications, delivering 100 sq ft of effective filtration area through a high-pleat-count Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack. Dimensional specifications conform to the Hayward C-1100 housing family: 7.0-inch OD, 3.0-inch ID, 23.25-inch length, with molded ABS end caps featuring a closed bottom and open-flow top seated on a Schedule-40 PVC structural core. Nominal filtration efficiency is rated at 20 microns under standard test conditions. The element is rated for continuous service at operating pressures to 25 PSI and fluid temperatures to 104°F. UV-stabilized end cap bonding resists chemical degradation under standard pool water chemistry, and pleat geometry is optimized for low clean-state ΔP across the full rated flow range.

Service interval recommendation: residential installations — pressure-differential replacement triggered at ΔP ≥ 8–10 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, or on an annual calendar cycle, whichever occurs first. Rinse at 4–6-week intervals or as flow degradation indicates; chemical soak with TSP or commercial enzyme cleaner every 3–6 months to remove oils, surfactants, and biofilm that resist rinse-only service. For calcium scale, muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution is compatible (20-minute maximum exposure); rinse thoroughly prior to reinstallation and verify housing O-ring seating and post-installation pressure before returning to service. Chlorine tolerance: continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; bromine compatible without restriction.
