Overview

The Unicel C-8410 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element rated at 100 sq ft of effective filtration area, engineered for high-capacity residential and light commercial single-cartridge filter housings. Media construction is Reemay-spec nonwoven polyester with nominal 20-micron filtration efficiency, supported on a Schedule-40 PVC core for axial rigidity under sustained operating pressure. End caps are ABS injection-molded with a closed bottom and open-flow top, dimensionally configured to seat in the Jandy CS-series filter tank without adapter hardware. Rated for continuous service to 104°F and operating pressure to 25 PSI, the C-8410 delivers the surface area required to maintain low clean-filter ΔP across the full GPM range of compatible single-element systems, extending service cycles between rinse intervals.

Service interval recommendation: replace at ΔP ≥ 8–10 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, or on an annual calendar cycle, whichever occurs first. Recommended maintenance includes fresh-water rinse every 4–6 weeks and chemical soak (dilute TSP or enzyme cleaner) every 3–6 months to remove oils, surfactants, and organic film resistant to rinsing alone. For calcium scale, muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution is compatible with the ABS end cap construction; limit acid exposure to 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly before reinstallation. Chemical compatibility: continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction. Verify tank O-ring condition and seating at every cartridge change; pressure-test the system at startup and confirm clean-baseline PSI for future ΔP reference.
