The Unicel C-7660 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element engineered for the Pentair Mytilus MY-60 filtration system, delivering 60 sq ft of effective filtration area through a Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack with nominal 20-micron filtration efficiency. Dimensional specifications: 7.0-inch OD, 1.875-inch ID, 14.5-inch length, with closed-bottom and open-top ABS injection-molded end caps mated to a Schedule-40 PVC center core for axial rigidity under sustained operating pressure. Rated flow is 60 GPM at 15 PSI clean differential, with continuous service temperature rated to 104°F and a maximum operating pressure of 50 PSI. End cap bond geometry and OD tolerance are held to ±0.030 inch for confirmed bypass-free seating in the OEM housing.
Service interval recommendation: residential installations — pressure-differential-based replacement triggered at ΔP ≥ 8 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, or on an annual calendar cycle, whichever occurs first; light commercial installations require ΔP logging and 60–90 day inspection intervals per local health code. Rinse every 4–6 weeks under normal bather load; chemical soak in dilute TSP or enzyme cleaner every 3–6 months to remove oils and lotions resistant to standard rinsing. Chemical compatibility: continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; muriatic acid wash compatible at 1:20 dilution (20 minutes maximum exposure) for calcium scale removal; enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction. Post-installation, verify clean operating pressure and inspect housing O-ring for compression set before returning the system to service.
