Overview

The Unicel C-5625 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element providing 25.0 sq ft of filtration area for Jacuzzi CFR-25 inground filter housings and dimensionally equivalent systems. Construction consists of a Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack at nominal 20-micron filtration efficiency, supported on a Schedule-40 PVC core with ABS injection-molded end caps in a closed-bottom, open-top configuration. Dimensional specifications: 4.9375-inch OD, 2.125-inch ID, 9.75-inch length, with a top end cap molded to mate against the Jacuzzi CFR manifold seat without adapter hardware. The element is rated for continuous service up to 104°F at operating pressures to 25 PSI, with end cap adhesive UV-stabilized to resist degradation under standard chlorinated pool water chemistry.

Service interval recommendation: residential pool applications — rinse at 4–6 week intervals or on ΔP rise of 8 PSI above clean-filter baseline, with chemical soak (dilute TSP or enzyme cleaner) every 3–6 months to remove oils, surfactants, and organic loading that resist water-only rinsing. Replace annually or upon ΔP failure to recover after cleaning, whichever occurs first. The polyester media tolerates continuous operation at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine and is compatible with muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution (20-minute maximum exposure) for calcium scale removal; ABS end cap construction is compatible with standard acid wash procedures. Enzyme cleaners compatible without restriction. Post-installation, verify clean-filter operating pressure against pump head curve baseline and document for service log reference.
