Filtration area is 18 sq ft, achieved through a Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack with nominal 20-micron filtration efficiency. Dimensional specifications: 4.25-inch OD, 1.5-inch ID, 8.0-inch length, with closed-bottom and open-flow top ABS injection-molded end caps. Construction is coreless, consistent with the low-pressure operating envelope of Intex saltwater and chlorine generator systems. Rated for continuous service to 104°F at operating pressures up to 15 PSI, the C-4317 matches the head curve characteristics of Intex Krystal Clear sand and SCG-paired filter pumps without underflow or bypass risk.

Service interval recommendation for seasonal above-ground installations: rinse weekly with fresh water during active swim season; replace at ΔP ≥ 5 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, or every 2 weeks under continuous use with saltwater chlorine generator operation, whichever occurs first. Chemical soak (dilute TSP or enzyme cleaner) recommended at 4–6 week intervals to remove oils, sunscreen residues, and surfactants. Chemical compatibility: polyester fabric tolerates continuous operation at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine; muriatic acid wash at 1:20 dilution (20-minute maximum exposure) is compatible with the ABS end cap construction for calcium scale removal.
