Overview

The Unicel 6CH-352 is a pleated polyester spa cartridge filter element providing 35.0 sq ft of effective filtration area through a high-density Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack with nominal 15-micron filtration efficiency. The element is configured for the Artesian Spas 6-inch diameter housing platform with a 2-inch MPT (male pipe thread) bottom-end fitting, integrated directly into the cartridge end cap for threaded standpipe engagement. Construction features ABS injection-molded end caps with the closed-top, threaded-bottom geometry specified by Artesian Spas filter manifold design, bonded to a structural inner core sized to maintain pleat geometry under spa-pump operating pressures (typical 5–20 PSI range). Maximum continuous service temperature is rated at 104°F with intermittent excursions to 115°F per manufacturer testing protocol. End cap bond chemistry is formulated for sustained immersion in heated, sanitized spa water.

Service interval recommendation: rinse with fresh water every 2–4 weeks under standard residential bather load; chemical soak in dilute TSP or commercial enzyme cleaner every 4–6 weeks to remove accumulated body oils, surfactants, and cosmetics that resist water rinsing alone. Replace at 12-month intervals for typical residential spa duty cycles, or sooner when ΔP rises ≥ 5 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, when visible fabric channeling or pleat collapse is observed, or when end cap separation is detected at the bond line. Chemical compatibility: polyester media and ABS end caps tolerate continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine or ≤ 30 ppm total bromine; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution (20-minute maximum exposure) is compatible for calcium scale removal, followed by thorough fresh-water rinse before reinstallation.
