Overview

The Unicel 4CH-926 is a pleated polyester cartridge filter element engineered for residential spa and small above-ground pool applications, providing 25.0 sq ft of filtration area through a Reemay nonwoven polyester media pack with SAE-thread bottom configuration. Dimensional specifications: 4.6875-inch OD, 1.5-inch SAE threaded bottom hub, 8.25-inch overall length, with an open-flow top end cap. End caps are ABS injection-molded with a closed, integrated SAE-threaded fitting at the base for direct standpipe mounting in compatible housings. Nominal filtration efficiency is 15 microns under standard test conditions. The element is rated for continuous service to 104°F and operating pressures to 25 PSI, with intermittent spa-temperature excursions to 115°F acceptable per Unicel test protocol.

Service interval recommendation: rinse with fresh water every 2–4 weeks for spa applications and every 4–6 weeks for above-ground pool service; chemical soak (dilute TSP or enzyme cleaner) every 4–6 weeks to remove oils, surfactants, and biofilm that resist water rinsing alone. Replacement is triggered at ΔP ≥ 8 PSI above clean-filter operating baseline, at visible media degradation (fabric tears, pleat channeling, delaminated end cap bond), or on an annual cycle, whichever occurs first. Chemical compatibility: polyester media and ABS end cap construction tolerate continuous operation at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine or ≤ 30 ppm total bromine; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution is compatible for calcium scale removal (20-minute maximum exposure, rinse thoroughly before reinstallation). Enzyme cleaner compatible without restriction. Standard Unicel 90-day manufacturer's defect warranty applies through authorized distribution.
