Corner Radius Guide

Corner radius determines the shape of your pool corners โ€” and it affects your liner, coping, and the overall look of the finished pool.

What Is Corner Radius?

Corner Radius Explained

Corner radius is the measurement of the curve at each corner of a rectangular or grecian pool. Larger radius = more rounded corner. Smaller radius = sharper, more angular corner.

Sharp

Small Radius (6"โ€“12")

Tight, nearly square corners. Clean and angular โ€” works well with modern, geometric designs. Less forgiving during liner installation. Requires more precision at the corners.

Standard ยท Recommended

Standard Radius (18"โ€“24")

The most common corner radius for residential inground pools. Smooth, rounded corners that look finished and are easier to install. The standard option included with all Poolzilla rectangle kits.

Very Rounded

Large Radius (36"+)

Very rounded corners โ€” creates a softer, more organic look. Less common on rectangle pools. Requires a specific liner cut to match the corner shape โ€” always confirm before ordering a replacement.

Why It Matters

How Corner Radius
Affects Your Build

Liner Fit

Your liner is custom-cut to match your exact corner radius. A liner cut for an 18" radius will not fit correctly on a 24" radius pool. Measure carefully before ordering any replacement liner โ€” do not guess.

Coping and Deck

Cantilever coping follows the pool wall. Natural stone coping requires cutting stone to match the corner curve. Discuss with your contractor before finalizing your coping choice.

Ordering Your Kit

All Poolzilla inground rectangle and grecian kits come with a standard 18"โ€“24" corner radius. If you need a different radius for a specific design or site condition, call us before ordering.

Replacement Liners

Measuring Your Corner Radius
For A Replacement

01

Find The Old Liner Tag

Most liners have a tag in one corner with the manufacturer's cut specifications, including corner radius. If still legible, use that number. If not, you will need to measure.

02

Measure The Corner Arc

With the pool drained, use a flexible tape to measure from where the straight wall ends to where it begins again at the corner. The radius is the distance from the center of that arc to the pool wall.

03

Call Us With The Measurement

Give us your pool dimensions and corner radius measurement and we will ensure you get a liner cut to fit correctly. An incorrectly cut liner cannot be returned once it has been installed.
