Installing Pool Cover Anchors: Paver Anchors

Anchor installation can feel like drill, drop, and done. Let’s dive into the details that make a perfect install.

Drill bit and length are important factors within your installation. Consult with your installer or deck designer to assess the proper length needed to ensure pool integrity. Your tube strength should always be maintained by a concrete underlay, not reliant on the layers above.

Identify and mark the locations around the pool perimeter where the anchors will be installed: These will be spaced to your safety cover.

Equip your drill with a 7/8” bit. For best results, use a new bit to ensure a clean installation: While drilling, hold the drill firmly and ensure the hole is being drilled vertically. Each hole should be deep enough to fully accommodate the length of the aluminum tube anchor (depth will vary based on size)

After drilling the length of the tube body: Remove excess dust from the holes using a hose or blower to ensure a secure fit.

Insert the anchors into the cleaned holes with a tamping tool and a soft hammer/mallet to gently tap the anchors into place: Be mindful of the anchor’s rim during this process.

After all anchors are installed, verify that each one is stable and does not wobble: It is valuable to ensure the anchor integrity with and without the cover; improperly installed anchors can lead to encountered issues down the line.
