Overview

The Unicel C-7466 is a pleated polyester spa cartridge filter element providing 65.0 sq ft of filtration area, engineered for high-flow Sundance Spas circulation systems with integrated microfilter media. Media construction is Reemay nonwoven polyester laid up in a high-density pleat pack on a structural polypropylene core, terminated with injection-molded ABS end caps configured for top-load threaded installation. The threaded top end cap features a molded handle and SAE-equivalent thread profile sized to the Sundance MicroClean filter standpipe; the bottom end cap is closed with a centered locator boss. Nominal filtration efficiency is 15 microns under standard test conditions. The element is rated for continuous service to 115°F at spa operating pressures of 5–15 PSI, with end cap adhesive bond verified for elevated-temperature shear performance.

Service interval recommendation: rinse with fresh water every 2–4 weeks; chemical soak in dilute TSP or commercial enzyme/filter cleaner every 4–6 weeks to remove body oils, lotions, and surfactant residue that resist water rinsing alone. Replacement is recommended at 12–15 month intervals under typical residential use, or sooner when ΔP rises ≥ 5 PSI above clean-filter baseline, when fabric channeling or pleat collapse is observed, or when post-cleaning flow recovery falls below 90% of original rated GPM. Chemical compatibility: continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine or ≤ 30 ppm total bromine; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution compatible for calcium scale removal (20-minute maximum exposure, thorough rinse required).
