Media construction utilizes Reemay-grade nonwoven polyester pleated around a perforated open-flow core, with molded end caps providing positive seating against the housing top and bottom seats. The element is rated for continuous service at standard above-ground pool circulation pressures and temperatures up to 104°F. Nominal filtration efficiency falls within the 20-micron range under standard test conditions, sufficient for residential above-ground turnover rates and bather loads typical of seasonal installations.

Service interval recommendation: rinse with fresh water every 1–2 weeks during active swim season; replace at 2-week intervals under heavy bather load or at ΔP rise corresponding to reduced return-line flow at the eyeball fitting. Standard above-ground service protocol calls for full element replacement every 4–8 weeks of continuous operation, or at first sign of fabric degradation, pleat collapse, or end-cap separation. Chemical compatibility: polyester media tolerates continuous service at ≤ 10 ppm free available chlorine and is compatible with standard bromine sanitization. Enzyme-based cartridge cleaners are compatible without restriction; muriatic acid soak at 1:20 dilution is acceptable for calcium scale but is generally not required at typical above-ground service intervals.
