Construction consists of Reemay nonwoven polyester media at nominal 15-micron filtration efficiency, supported by injection-molded ABS end caps in a closed-bottom, threaded-top configuration matched to the Sundance 6540-501 housing interface. The threaded top end cap provides a positive seal against the filter standpipe, eliminating bypass under operating conditions. Element is rated for continuous service to 115°F with intermittent excursions to 120°F acceptable per manufacturer testing protocol. Operating pressure range conforms to standard spa circulation pump output: 5–15 PSI nominal. The 40.0 sq ft media area supports extended service intervals between rinse cycles relative to lower-capacity spa elements, reducing maintenance frequency in high-bather-load applications.

Service interval recommendation: rinse with fresh water every 2–4 weeks under standard residential bather load; chemical soak in dilute TSP or commercial enzyme cleaner every 4–6 weeks to remove accumulated body oils, lotions, and surfactant residues that resist water rinse.
